Join Jo and Aleisha Leonard (Homesong) for this unique workshop combining aerial yoga with live chanting, flute, harmonium, chimes and plant sounds!
There will be an opportunity to add your own voice to the chant or simply settle in and soak up the sounds.
Jo will guide you through some gentle and supportive aerial yoga shapes, while Aleisha creates a harmonic soundscape. The aerial hammock allows you to feel the vibrations of the sounds in a whole new way, as well as providing fluid and comfortable support for relaxation and meditation.
This workshop is trauma informed and mental health aware, the aerial yoga postures are very adaptable to different bodies and needs, but please be aware that our studio is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible, entry is via a narrow walkway and 6 steps.
About Aleisha Leonard
Introducing Aleisha (she / her) - aka Homesong.love on the socials, who will be joining us for Suspended Song
Aleisha is a professional horticulturist using sustainable gardening methods, a movement facilitator, kirtanist and sound practitioner from Australia, currently based in London, UK. Aleisha comes from an exercise science and yoga background, discovered a love of Nada yoga, the yoga of sound, and has been exploring a relationship with sound practices ever since.
She has studied sound and mantra courses with local and international teachers - exploring chanting, harmonium and other use of sound practices. In the UK Aleisha studied sound therapy with the British Academy of Sound Therapy exploring various sound practices in depth for their therapeutic benefits and offers weekly sound therapy meditations for residents of an alcohol rehabilitation clinic, to assist with their recovery and to provide sound as an anchor for a meditative practice.
At the moment Aleisha is interested in exploring the relationship between sound and nature. You can expect this practice to incorporate sounds of the nature and the earth. You are invited to bathe in the sounds, use them as a focus for meditation, or completely tune out and move towards a state of relaxation.
