Mentoring and Support

Helping you grow as a teacher

These are difficult times, where people need the healing practice of yoga more than ever.

However many teachers are feeling overwhelmed and burned out, or have big dreams but aren't sure where to begin. Or maybe you feel like you don't fit within the studio system and are looking for support as an independent teacher.

Our mentoring program can support you in evolving your business, finding your voice as a teacher in class and online and growing your yoga business your own way.

We can help you identify your strengths, find new directions for your business in these challenging times and support you along the way, so you can continue to support your community.

Have you finished your teacher training, but aren't sure what's next?

It can feel like a big leap from teaching within a training to launching your own classes out in the world!

It can be particularly challenging starting out as an aerial yoga teacher, since specialised equipment and insurance is required. Jo can help to bridge the gap between teacher training and professional teaching by offering supervised practice sessions, and a beautiful space here at Garden of Yoga to help you grow into a confident and competent teacher. Since these sessions are fully supervised you will be covered by our insurance, and will also receive real time support and valuable feedback.

She can also support established aerial yoga teachers looking for fresh inspiration, sequencing ideas, strategies to make aerial yoga more accessible and to share yoga philosophy within your classes.

Under Jo's mentorship, I have grown more skilled and confident in delivering aerial yoga classes to students. Her recently published textbook is a phenomenal testament to her decades of teaching and running her own studio, and has helped me to understand the lineage of yoga and how it connects to aerial yoga. Her mentoring is supportive, encouraging and transparent. I really appreciate her direct feedback, clear communication and her willingness to help those who are mentored by her how best to navigate things like pay conditions, working conditions, how to run workshops, use of photography in social media, the networking side of things.
