The Subtle Body

The yogic concept of the subtle body provides us with a reference system of the connections between the physical, mental and subtle aspects of ourselves. The chakra system is often the basis for guided visualisations and a framework for sequencing your yoga practice. This information can give foundation and direction when taking our yoga practice off the mat and looking deeper into ourselves, but ultimately, it is the process of svadyaya (self study), where we glean the most useful information. This retreat will provide you with a variety of tools and methods, some may resonate with you, some you may not need and hopefully many will enhance your yoga practice and therefore your life.

Nadis are the channels for energy through the body and Agni and Apana are the focus for many of the ‘cleansing practices’.  This information can give foundation and direction when taking our yoga practice off the mat and looking deeper into ourselves, but ultimately, it is the process of svadyaya (self study), where we glean the most useful information. This retreat will provide you with a variety of tools and methods, some may resonate with you, some you may not need and hopefully many will enhance your yoga practice and therefore your life!
These include aspects of yoga beyond asana, such as pranayama, ayurvedic massage, yantra drawing and meditation. I have provided the starting point of information so that you are able to continue practicing these activities when you get home, and also references, so you can deepen your knowledge- as they are all specialist fields in their own right, i’ve been quite brief, there are whole dimensions of the subtle body that i haven’t mentioned!
